L.E. Strickland (1917-1920)

According to the Texas Baptist Annual, Bro. Strickland was Pastor of Edgefield (Waco), Rockdale and Buffalo Baptist Churches from 1927 to 1943.

He was Associational Sunday School Superintendent for Freestone-Leon Association in 1943. There is no information about Bro. Strickland in the minutes of Hewitt Baptist Church.

Someone has recalled that he was the first pastor to own and drive an automobile to church. George Sorrows was ordained as a Deacon, probably during Bro. Strickland's ministry.
