O.M. Thompson (1928-1932)

O.M. Thompson was born in Richland, Texas, on January 19, 1897. He died in 1970.

Bro. Thompson served Hewitt Baptist Church while he was a student at Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.

The Sanctuary, built in 1924, was dedicated October 27, 1929. A Standard Sunday School was organized on April 13, 1930, with classes and teachers for Cradle Roll, Beginners, Primaries, Juniors, Intermediates, Young People, Women and Men. A room was added to the church on April 17-18, 1930, and was ready for use on April 20. Fourth Sunday collections were designated for Buckner's Orphans Home. Joe Bradley, John Ashcraft, Rhea Blanton and M.L. Trice were elected Deacons on September 11, 1931.
