We believe that it is our responsibility as a church to nurture the faith of the children who have been entrusted to us.
We have Bible study classes for all ages on Sunday mornings at 9:45 a.m. We are blessed with great teachers that love our children and are excited to teach them about God’s Word. We use Gospel Project curriculum, a chronological, Christ-centered Bible study that examines how all Scripture gives testimony to Jesus Christ. Over the course of three years, children will journey from Genesis to Revelation and discover how God’s plan of redemption unfolds throughout Scripture and still today, compelling them to join the mission of God.
We offer discipleship for children on Sunday evenings, which include preschool discipleship and Bible Drill for both younger and older children. These classes offer a unique mix of activities that will help boys and girls build strong Bible skills, while learning to apply these skills to their daily lives.
All our children are encouraged to participate in our music program on Sunday evenings. We believe music is an important way to praise God and to celebrate our faith. We have classes for all age groups of children from three years of age through sixth grade.
First Baptist Church Hewitt offers a worship service specifically for young children (K-3rd Grade) during our 11:00 contemporary worship service. We also offer a Pre-K class during the same time for children ages 3-Pre-K. These services are media driven and offer music, Bible study, and games.
Parent’s Day Out
Our PDO program exists to minister to both children and their parents. We strive to provide children with a nurturing, Christian environment in which to play and to learn. We use the WEE-Learn curriculum for age-appropriate learning, provide a daily music class, and make it a priority to teach biblical truths to all children. Susan Malone came to FBC Hewitt in July 2000 to serve as Minister of Childhood Education. Susan and Howard were married in 1985 and they have one son, Billy. She grew up in Waco and received a Bachelor in Ministry degree in 2003 from Andersonville Baptist Seminary. She and Howard love children and enjoy serving together in ministry, teaching boys and girls the truths in the Bible and watching them live out those truths in their daily lives.
